The thing is you don't get the car finished any quicker

in 2 nights, you've done more to your mini, than I've managed in 2 YEARS!!
yes but you have talked more about yours and had twice as many ideas
well, I'm FINALLY spending a bit of cash on parts now to make a start on it - bidding on an axle now, should hopefully have it in my filthy mitts within a week!

positioned the lightened backplate and the friction plate, offered up the
lightened flywheel and located locking plate and tab washer, tightened up the
bolt . when I went to bend the lock washer tabs they all broke off B*****R !
popped down to my local parts shop, they don't keep the locking washers, ARRRRRGH!!!!
They should be included in the clutch kits as they should be replaced when changing
the clutch IMO.... Went on moss wanted over £5 incl postage

fleebay and got one for £3.99 incl p&p. Have to wait till the weekend I suppose now

clutch started to fit the clutch housing, problem:: one of the bolts
had been sheared and left, tried using moleys no joy, tried welding
a nut over no joy, in the end got an old cheapo ratchet spanner
and welded that to the stud, with a little gentle persuation managed
to get the old stud out 'Yipee'

Got to clean it all down (the old 1000 motor had a bad leak from the
block/gearbox gasket) then think about painting it, was going for black
originally but may go red.
Need the motor in to fit the front arches..

welder ( a 105 en turbo) nearly new, as he's giving up repairing cars.
He wanted £90, knocked him down to £70, also gave me a full cylinder of
gas, a set of welding clamps, large spool of wire and a auto mask he
said he'd paid about £300 for. So on the whole not bad
