to find rocking horse s**t, LOL, Heritage at £2k was out of the
question ,so repair is the only option or scrap it ( god forbid).
With regard to being in the buisiness I am a welder, and I did
a Mini when I was 17 (22yrs ago).
Nice to hear from you Jack, I'll take a peek at your posting later.
thanks for comments both.

here your a welder you mite know ,i'm looking to hire a bigger genny to run my 150amp welder happily wont be using it at the full 150amp tho will a 6kv genny be enough ? Ive phoned the hire centres never me and none of them can give me a straight answer when i ask this
Hi Steve, genny welding is mainly arc welding, due to the welding being done on site and the
risk of sheilding gas being dispersed by wind etc. The welders are normally combined with the genny itself as one unit.
From what I have seen (on the web) a 150A mig welder has needs a supply fuse rating of 20A, A 6KV
generator has a 230V outlet panel rating of only 16 A, So I think the welder would be drawing too many
Amps (the genny would keep tripping out / blowing fuses).
I will ask an electritian at work tomorrow for you.

Yes mate it was from me, for some reason since the forum virus last week i can't seem to
upload any pictures to the site ?
Had a chat with an electrcian at work and he basically said the same as me with regard to the
genny output panel , you would need a genny with a 20A or greater output panel loading,
as Dogmatix stated you would need a genny around 8/10kv

yes mate i am a qualified welder, but the welding plant i
have borrowed off a mate is a bit too powerfull for car panels,
when it's turned down to a suitable power setting it plays up
like a right little b*****d, anyway that's my excuse ,LOL
Just in the process of ordering my 2 half floor panels and 2 outer sills
from M-Machine ( £144.00 ), when i get them can start finishing the floor
Yippee !!!!!!!! can't wait.
Extreme Mighty Minis are at Mallory park tomorrow might try to
get there.
