Well not been on here for a while but i'll update what i've been doing..

 

Decided to mod the Turbo head I got with the turbo set up , then sent it to have the valves

and seat triple angle cut

stripped the engine , new rings , shells etc ,fitted an MG metro cam , duplex chain , central oil pick up

painted it green

 

 

painted the head and fitted it

Needed a tank with a fuel return so I modded the one I've got, used some spare hydraulic pipe off a power

steering rack and made up some pipes

 

return and feed pipes before welding

 

 

return welded in place

 

 

cut off the 6mm feed and replaced with a 10mm feed

engine with turbo assembly fitted

 

 

wanted the turbo air exit routed in a different direction so I decided to put a bend

into the pipe, cut it with a hack saw to make a lobster back bend

 

 

took it work and welded it up , then fitted

The turbo has an oil feed to it but it needs to return back into the engine, the blanking plate

over the mechanical pump hole is used for the oil return, had a search and couldn't find

an adapter so I made my own

 

the blanking plate I had previously made, pic also show the return outlet from the

turbo

 

 

cut a piece of pipe and drilled a hole in the blanking plate

 

 

welded the pipe cut down then welded a thin bit of larger pipe to the end

 

 

dressed off and rounded the end

 

 

fitted in position ready for the connecting hose

Decide to fit a breather to the rocker cover..

 

made a bend out of some small pipe drilled the cover and welded in the pipe

 

 

made a baffle plate and welded it inside the cover to prevent oil from being blown

directly out the breather

 

 

with breather fitted, the pipe is fitted between the set of rockers

Had to replace the fuel line as the turbo set up needs a high pressure dual line with

a bigger bore. so replaced the 8mm with 10mm copper micro bore that I had

been using for an external air line extension...

 

had to run the either side of the seat bulkhead due to the pump feed in the boot, ran

the pipes inside the car as before , secured with stainless 'p' clips

No not the end. Just not been on..
due to various issues I have had 3 engine changes and have had to haverify the turbo reconditioned. ...
all's good now though

Not been on for ages.... yes it was .... time wasters... . A new chapter has begun in the life of Ratty !!!!! Have sold the 1275 engine and turbo set up .. Got £600 even though I said it needed a rebore.. so I've bought a complete 1.6 vtec civic to strip down. .
