The inner cv's haven't come out the pots as people said they would
Good news!
Let us know if any problems manifest themselves, think i'm going to try and source a set.

I really ragged him round a few roundabouts taking my step bro for a spin , he had to hold on to the seat .... needless to say the cv's are still in the pots.....

Just to let you know I've been ragging Ratty around for a couple of weeks with the new front end set up and my
cv's are still in place, and not separated......

Good to hear chap, think I'll get myself a set. Do they use the Mini outer CVs?

Yes later disc type , although I bought new ones , had trouble with the ones from the local 'Parkers' auto
factors , had two makes from them and they both seemed to have an over machined bearing face , the bearings
just dropped on with no resistance so I took them back.... Ordered a 'pair' of new cv's from 'J&R cv joints'
£38 a pair incl delivery !!!!!!

Oh that's alright, means I'll need minimal parts! At that price though, might as well invest in some new CVs.
Need to get it through an MOT first

My project.. modifying an MGB 1 1/2 HIF inlet manifold , reducing the mounting flanges and narrowing the balancing tube, reason why... Only cost £15 against £60 for an A series one... Also got a pair of HIF4 SU's to fit on , just got to get the linkage ....
Ready for when I get the engine sorted with the cam and flowed head back on, and hopefully an ultra light flywheel , Have also Just got hold of an 850 engine with a 3.7:1 diff , going to stick the diff in Ratty should give some wicked acceleration....
Flanges narrowed

Got a few bits this week, shorter manifold studs with nuts , throttle and choke linkages , carb spacers with balancing points on them, a new choke valve as I broke the original , choke seals and a lock tab... Just got to weld the manifold together and block off some vacuum take offs

You're probably already aware of this, but with a 3.7 final drive, the mini would be almost unusable on anything that isn't a corner.

Got 13'' wheels as well so I think they will compensate a bit , worth a try anyway as I've got a spare gearbox I could use,
only means popping the engine back out if it's no good, would be a shame not to try...
