top end, have changed the cam chain and pullys , oil pump and
had it running with the clutch removed , but made no difference.
only bonus is it's easier to do these things with a removable front
and no inner wings )....
oil pump change in car
old cam chain change in car
this is the new chain
clutch out in car
thank god for one piece fronts and no inner wings

How does it get on with the single wiper? I was considering removing the passenger one on my car and banking the hole off, obviously dont want to do it if it wont pass an MOT.
Cheers
Chris
Hi Chris,
As you may have noticed , I have blanked off both original holes and re-positioned the arm more centrally,
the wiper clears most of the drivers side and partially the passenger side, you only need to clear enough
for the drivers view , two Mot stations have passed it and not mentioned about the wipers ,until I asked about
legality both say that only the drivers view needs to be clear

How did you do the mechanisum under the scuttle to remove the 2nd spindle? Is there a totally custom tube, or a spacer?

Take the wiper mech out, remove the wiper wheel box nearest the motor , this will leave two parts of the outer sleeve with the drive cable running inside. what you need to do is remove the drive cable from the motor ( remove the motor cover and unclip the cable ) then decide where you want the wiper, drill and fit the wiper box and part of the outer cable tube, next the two outer cable tubes should over lap, mark where they do and join them to make one tube (tack together). you can now remove the wiper box and feed the inner cable back through ,then re-fit the wiper box. you may have to fit the wiper box upside down so the wiper motion sweep in the right direction ( I did ). last thing to do is to trim down the inner cable as it will be slighly too long, you will need to operate the wiper until the is at its maximum travel before you trim it.. just a thought that I noticed.... The early wheel boxes only have 22 teeth this may give a greater sweep , I keep meaning to change mine ( 32 teeth )

I was thinking of leaving the drivers one where it is and just removing the passenger one, bit like the miglia's do.

ahh right, so it is ok to tack the tubes.

Adding at bit extra to the tube will allow the wiper to clear a bit more of the passenger window side

something, probably the crank, so i need to look into this
Also noticed that when no1 piston is at the bottom of the bore and starts to travel
back up the bore the little end part of the conrod moves across the piston and touches
the side of the piston, when the piston travels down the little end moves across in the
opposite direction , just wondering it the conrod is bent and is hitting the inside of the piston
causing the rattling noise..

Thanks for sorting the steel out, still not seen you to pay up! Didnt even realise you brought the Galaxy back in for the retest, was going to txt you to remind you, but asked Gav and he said you have already been in!
Also, would you be able to weld up a hole for me in my plenum please? Its ally, the hole is about the size of a 5p piece.
