That cranks proper had it, skip job I reckon. Like you say the casting looks like poo!

reckon it was fitted like that from new !!!!!!!! , found a 6581 Turbo crank that i'm hoping to
get :) , just need to know whether it will fit an 'A' series block, both have 1.75'' journals.

went to Minispeed today, took with me 3 cranks (2 rusty) and a couple off old 12g940
heads (both with broken studs). swapped them for a re-con nitrided crank, :proud: also had
a set of main and big end shells, shims and a full set of rings. should have been
£135 but got 20% off so only paid £100.... so a good day

nitrided crank out of an early metro turbo???

should be a strong old bugger once rebuilt...

ha ha, hopefully his new motor won't dump oil over the bulkhead and help peel
the paint off..

made my own tool for pressing in the new cam bearings

also covered my door cards and rear cards with acoustic material

Also took my block in for some machining work on Friday, having the block
face skimmed and the bores lightly honed to de-glaze, for a cost of £50 bargain..

finally managed to get my block back today, went twice this week and the
machine shop was closed..... third time lucky .

Nice surprise though , only charged me £40 for a hone and block skim, was
quoted £50 when I dropped it off.. super bargain....

Well I noticed that there were a couple of light score marks in the bores, I only
had it de-glazed so I decided to buy a honer and hone the bores . done it now
and ready for re-building. I've fitted the cam and the crank , just need to get
my pistons ring compressor back so I can drop the pistons in..
