Don't tell anyone but I've been in the garage this morning, received my alldrive sockets over the
weekend which I needed to undo the spline nuts, I decided to remove the con-rods. well what
did I find ?? I think I found the reason for Ratty having high sump pressure and loosing a bit of
power, but not that much !

These are the 3 top rings from piston one



oil scraper is fine

think i'll just hone the bores and fit new rings as the bores measure ok..

This the 'A' series Austin 1300 engine which I first put in Ratty

Got a set of new old stock piston rings for £20 , so Ratty's engine
will be put back together when my cast is off !!!!!!!
Another plus today, Was emailed by MiniMag requesting more
pics and info on Ratty.....

Had a book delivered today, had it 25rs ago when I had my first Mini, then lent
it out and never got it back, Finally got a copy for a fiver off Fleebay



Looking foward to reading through it again, seeing what i've forgotten and missed LOL
