Camp Freddy

Much respect to you sir, think I would have curled up into a little ball on the workshop floor by now in a pool of tears

I just hope, I really do, that the shells not bent all out of shape, taking that many panels off the car at the start. Should have had a jig on that surely?

Anyway looking cracking so far

Good luck with the rest of it!

:(

Looks ace.

Can I just ask why you've gone for fibreglass on the seams?

Got the glassfibre from work (Wurth) It can be painted straight over due to fibres being very fine
( not like P40),
I am only using it to build back the profile and then finishing of with
a polyester filler.

Started stripping down the subframe ready for painting,
replacing suspension bushes with poly bushes.

how cool is this thread! Your mini should be solid as a rock by the time you're finished!!
Reminds me of the days when me and paul would discover new rust all the blooming time! Mind you...you seem to have much more of a challenge!!! Congrats, it will look awesome when its finished (if mini's can ever be called "finished")

Freddy dude it's looking schweet!!! I have never de-seamed a mini before but from what i can gather it is generally accpeted the strongest way is to put a plate across the back of the weld too... in your picture it look slike you haven' done this...have you done this? If not... why?... or will you do it at a later on..?

not criticising, just curious :P
