It may be a daft question, but have you used the triumph track rods ends? as they are longer than the mini ones.
Regards
David
I have took the bottom arms which I made off, and re-fitted the 1.5 deg ones.
using standard track rod ends at the moment, they still have plenty of thread
left...

Looks nice, I hope you cleaned those air filters.
I've got to remove them to fit the carbs, so i'll clean them then!

there I heard a rattling / blowing noise from the engine !!!!
Took my mate out for a spin and it got worse
When I got home I had a look and found that one of the
nuts on the center exhaust manifold pipes had come loose
and the pipe was vibrating and blowing, tightened it up and
it was ok..
My mate lent me a carb balancer so I decided to try and fit
the twin carbs took off the single SU, offered up the twins
and found that the r/h carb mounting flange was fouling the exhaust
so this will need modifying, also found that due to the carbs coming
off another car (poss MGB) the float bowl angle needs changing for
the Mini , I'm sure I saw a convertion kit in one of the mags ,I'll
have to scoot through them..... I'll also see if I can mod them tomorrow

All the awesome minis have had exhaust maifold problems in the last week I'm pleased you managed to find it and fix it
The twin carbs....Ratty has a pair of boobies Hope you find the conversion kit and get them fitted soon.
technically it's not really a conversion kit, it's the 'grommet' between
the bowl and main carb body, on an MGB they have a slot at 20 deg
the mini grommet has a slot at 30 deg to allow the float bowl to sit
vertical, I can use the one on Ratty's original 1 1/2 carb and i'll see if I
can mod one off the twins , or i'll have to buy one.
this is what it is;

Might wait till the christmas show if I can get there..

Well I decided to have a look at the float bowl gaskets (as they are called) on
Sunday, took them off, they are made from hard rubber, they have a square
slot in them where the float bowl locates and hold them in position. So I decided
to get my Stanley blade out!! You guessed it I re-cut the locating slot to allow the
Float bowl to sit right when in position on the manifold, Thats saved me £12
I have just got to sort out the fuel feed pipes from the float bowl to the carb body
now, Mini spares do supply longer pipes but don't know if they will be long enough...
Bloody cold this morning, Ratty was frozen over , Got about 1/4 ml from work
and realised why the heater wasn't blowing hot, when I took the carb off I shut off
the heater valve, I haven't fitted the cable so I had to get out and stick my hand
through the grill apeture and open the valve, at least I got warmer just before I
got out !!! LOL
Did a bit more on the new grill today at work, had 1/2 an hour after the bosses had
gone home , finished cutting out the backing plate then bonded on the ally diamond
mesh, trim off tomorrow and make up a edge surround.

That grille sounds nice, are you going to remove alternate slats like Ianpettifer did on the panther?

got a problem, I forgot that the original grills
sit on the outside of the grill opening, I want
my grill to sit inside the opening , so I have
got to cut it down some more,
I tried it in position just to see what it looks like
will have a finishing trim round the edge and
also painted Satin Black..
