new door skins so there were no holes, just drilled holes !!

More probs!!!!!

on Weds one of the lads noticed that there was oil dripping from
the engine, found out that the vent I had fitted on the back of
the engine had completely undone and come out, leaving a 10mm
hole in the block, therefore under ecceleration it was chucking out oil !!!
So I took off the drain tap and welded up the hole on the blanking plate
blocked off the fuel pump mounting..

fitted the new adjustable oil pressure release valve, spring and ball
bearing. started up but the Min was still running at over 100psi
when running, so I shortened the old spring until the pressure
was reduced enough. I have got it all sorted now running at just under
70 psi on high revs.

new headgasket, 8 valve stem seals fitted instead of 4 ( no oil through guides now )
head torqued to 64lbs instead of 50 , no more running hot , no loss of water had it running
for 15mins on the drive and ran at 85 degrees ,hardley any loss of oil and definately
no smoke from the exhaust, just a bit rich (black soot). but still a rattly silencer not
fitted the exhaust wrap yet LOL.

sorry i drilled the holes then fitted some riv nuts in.

well i've done a few of jobs for people ( fitted a window, radiator and made a light box)
so I have a few notes to spend . so I bought a new stereo (Kenwood) for my boombox
for £40, and yesterday bought a H4 headlight upgrade kit for Ratty... so I'll have something
to do over the weekend, also buying a neg camber set up off Jameswildcooper .
So that's all the money gone for now . Nice when the money don't come out
your own pocket...... It's also my birthday on Sunday so I may get a few more quid
to play with 'what shall I buy next'. Running out of things to get !! (that isn't too
much money)....
