remove glass, roof lining, sit the shell on a couple of roof
joists (4x2 timber) running along the length of the car.
you could weld a brace across the top of the doors openings
to support the body. remove the loom than runs along the roof
and down the pillars and make sure there are no other wires
you could cut through.
cut out the roof panel leaving about 3'' of roof from the gutter,
cut through all the pillars as close to the top as possible, the
roof can now be lifted off, cut through between the pillars,
you should have six sections of roof now.
back on the shell cut off the door window frames, then on the
window pillars measure down the required amount cut this
amount off , re-fit the the roof sections ensuring that they
are squared up and true, cut down and re-fit the door window
frames.
you will notice that as you have lowered the roof it has become
wider and longer, and sections will have to be grafted in from
another scrap roof frame, as for the roof panel you could either
fit a skin from the scrap yard or fit a carbon skin. fitting a complete
skin will leave less finishing work.
make templates of all glass as it will need cutting down.
when i did mine i fitted a steel roof skin and welded it in place
then removed all guttering
Hope this helps Martin, take your time if you decide to go ahead.

issue of miniworld ? that looks the dogs bo***ks, he's even chanelled the body
to keep it all in proportion, you can also see where he's cut through
the pillars and the roof, gives some idea of how to do it!
looking at the b/w pic it looks like he's raked the roof back aswell.
found this pic of a restored minisprint
cool
