They a good old car. I had one in the '80's, fairly quick, loads of room and pretty reliable. Parts are still easy to get, simple to service and they do about 30-35mpg. Just make sure you get a good one that's not been messed about.

And where it all happens (the AX was mine too, bought it for £80 with the money from my first job just to bomb round the farm in - had to scrap it though to raise funds to repair the unexpected rust in the Mini 3 years ago, I cried :( )

wait, your dad has a tank, why are you paying for things?

This was supposed to be my new daily to replace the civic, but its in such good condition and has so much potential, I just can't bring myself to use it as my main car so its going to be a main weekend car :P. They are fantastic to drive, mine has a TSR cadwell engine fitted and it still returns 35 mpg on a good run. They are awesome cars, I cant beleive ive been missing out, ive always wanted one. They are no different to modern cars in terms of everyday use, just more fun and cool.

Good stuff :) If I did get one I don't think it would be as good condition as yours! Purely because I would end up not driving it aha. Is TSR cadwell a tuning company?

TSR are a VW tuning company, highly regarded in the VW scene I do believe. Cadwell is their engine package they offer, its basically a rebuilt KR (gti 16v) engine with some more lively cams and extra goodies. Should be seeing 180bhp.
