ive got twin tanks for my mini and they need cleaned up a bit rusty would sandblasting be to harsh on them

sand blasting will be fine... of course you will need to make sure you either stop all grit going inside or me 200% sure that its completly clean afterwards

i just thought sandblasting would maybe perfirate the tanks causing them to leak

nothing just that i have access to a sand blaster thought it be easier

should be ok, unless its really rusty and could possibly penetrate the tank. go for it, just do it lightly:)

shot blasting isnt that abrasive! would just go through the blast cabinate if it was so

haha wouldnt be to keen on that . now we have cleared up that would powder coating them be ok ?

I personally wouldnt sand blast as you never know if you have got 100% of the sand out say if your top seal was penetrated by the sand or a hole appears in the tank. Up to you the end of the day. Powder coating is fine seen a few minis with powder coated tanks

well they have been sitting in a old barn for atleast 5 years ive checked them over and they seem to be pritty solid just look total scruffy

I would imagine it will come off really easily, fuel tank are not made from the crap they make body panels out of
