Snap on are doing an offer at the moment, its based at apprentices, and is a roll cab with sockets (short and deep), extentions, ratchet, screw drivers, mole grips, spanners, pliers, hammers.£2200 worth of snap on kit for just £999. I already have 2 snap on boxes full of their kit so i don't need one but, Its such a good deal im thinking of getting another one.

no, the special offer catalogs are print by snap on, then used by the reps/dealers so on the offer stuff the rep have no say on price.

like i said i only buy things when there on offer otherwise they are daft money

Whatever you do avoid Clarke! (This is my opinion and not one supported by TMF, its members as a whole or any of its affiliates)

Any reason why? Most of my bigger tools (compressor, welder, plasma cutter, body straightening jig, tool boxes, all my air tools ect) are clarke and are perfect. used and abused daily.

The likes of kennedy, laser, halfords etc are fine. thats all we ever use at work. I work as a mechanic in a coal mine so they are exposed to rough conditions, acidic humidity, abuse etc.that you would never recreate at home or anywhere else

I have a set of snap on ratchets, they're no different to the Halfords pro range IMO. Personally though, I prefer Teng Tools. Good quality at an affordable price. Not as common as halfords/snap on, so less likely to inadvertantly end up in someone else's tool kit.

People who say halfords stuff is good have obviously never used a snap-on tool before, the ratchets are so much better, the sockets fit on the ratchets better, the ratchet me banish on the spanners are much better. Pay for the quality.

People who compare halfords with snap-on are numptys!

So from a Numpty here i have used and still use Snap on and Halfords Professional tools frequently. Yes Snap on are good but there is a lot of stiff competition out there now with the various manufacturers and Halfords have now bought in a supplier who do make some serious bits of kit for their price . I currently use some of their sockets at work and are as good as Snap on.

The Halford ratchets are better by miles from what they used to be and i abuse the ones we have at home. I am not a Snap on snob and use any tool that will do the job without breaking. I have broken Snap on tools and have had to replace them when i can find a Snap on van. I have broken Halfords tools and have taken them back to the nearest shop and had then replaced straight away if they have them in stock.

Its down to what you can afford and not everybody can afford Snap on prices.

Harsh calling people numpties because they prefer to use another brand of tooling and no need for it.
