Its horse’s for course’s, buy once and forget they come with a life time guaranty.
I have snap-on tools that are at least 35 years old, some I used every day,
Many have been replaced over the years at no cost.
Your local snap-on guy is the one to help; he may have second hand tools to sell you.
You can also look at eBay, boot sales or your local paper,

Apparently Komatsu make tools for Snap-On and are half the price.
When I had to buy tools for work I'd go for Britool (I still use a 3/4" Britool ratchet that was my Grandad's who was a motor engineer and then it was my Dad's then he gave it to me!), Sealey, Kamasa, Bergen Pro, Sykes Pickavant...
My Dad has a set of Halfords Pro ratchet spanners that are really nice quality.
As for paying for them - Rome wasn't built in a day!
Whatever you do avoid Clarke! (This is my opinion and not one supported by TMF, its members as a whole or any of its affiliates)
