well today i collected the robin for my mate, and i have to say i loved it!

corners do indeed make you very nervous, and along a stretch of open road it was very twitchy in the strong wind. seemed to top out at about 50 too. i also found the transmision and rear diff noise was brilliant. like classic british sports cars should sound!

im now looking for a running project, i dont think ill sell my mini for one just yet though!

Here's a good trivia question:

What have the Reliant Scimitar, the Bond Bug and a beautiful 1960's special GRP-bodied Mini Cooper in common?

Ans.: They were all styled by the same company, Ogle Design Limited of Letchworth. The Mini was the Ogle SX1000 and David Ogle was killed when he crashed one on the A1.

In case anyone was wondering what an Ogle looks like,

I had a set of bond bug rims on my 850 when i was 18. (dunlop rims iirc)
There also used to be one that had been crashed in a woods on the outskirts of town. Not even sure it may still be there.

I personally love the stigma that comes with the reliant's (3 wheelers) not sure i would feel safe in one these days though.

A kitten would be a better, although i am sure they are quite sought after.

Pretty sure there are some good 'bike engined kitten' vids on the u tube

Would love to have a play with a kitten, not sure whether I actually like them at all though, I'm just interested.

The kitten built by Dave at DJM near ollerton was the best i have seen. Full tube chassis from the ground up and bike powered.
Dave told me the day i saw it that he could only race it for a year as they were going to ban it.

That has to be one of the most attractive Mini-based specials ever produced. Less than 600 kg all-up weight too.

If you are worried about rolling a 3 wheeler or consider it dangerous then that's down to your driving skill not the design of the car.

If you slid on ice you'd have to concede that you were driving too fast for the conditions, the same applies to a 3 wheeler, if you rolled it then you were going too fast/leaving the breaking too late.

They are just jaw droppingly beautiful, not sure about the 12" rims on that one though.
