ive been browsing this site a while i thought id look in forsed induction, i notice a lot of people saying garret t3 turbo....

well i know very little about the metro turbo and ive built and worked on a few rs turbos and the escort had a garret t3 turbo... is this the same? im asking as i have a fully rebuilt one with all the 360deg bearing and all balanced up sat next to me from my old fiesta project......

only pic i can see on photobucket but think its got a ar48 compressor housing on... cant remember!

It's the same core, The Metro had a tiny exhaust A/R and I think one of Escorts is the closest that's still available.

I have the figures somewhere.

don't under estimate the value of lag. Nout better than a big kick in the arse half way through the rev range :)

not sure mate, my 998 runs fine just want to get doing the bodywork and get it road legal and use her, sort any bugging problems out with her then decide what to do whithe the motor! lol ive had it since may and only drove it on then off a trailer lol... too good to turn down a running driving mini for £350 tho :P

just a thought tho as ive that brand new one i had rebuilt to top spec i may of been able to use. guess if i do turbo it ill use a gt25 as you can pick them up for 120 notes for a cheap brand new one or ill supercharge it!

as above the exhaust AR is different between the Metro and Escort. But as the Metro turbine parts are NLA it's common to use the Escort one. It will have more lag, but equally it'll make more power.

whats the a/r on the turbine side? i know you can only get the 0.36's now can't you instead of the 0.25's on the metro as std.
