I can't comment and compare mintex pads. I have a set of Green stuff pad's with grooved and dimpled discs, and when they are warm, they are fantastic and predictable. (When cold - you just have to think abit, they do soon warm up (after 3 braking motions))

EBC are good name, as are Mintex. But in my experience Green Stuff have been fantastic for me. Really worked well on the 'ring.

I am changing to 7.9'' minisport 4 pots and will be having my discs turned down, and a new set of green stuff pads.

I found that when I used them last on track at Cadwell (the mini ring lol) that they just wouldnt hold any heat so when I got the goose neck there was nothing at all. Maybe they work better with the grooved pads which may keep them warmer during use.
As minis are not heavy they dont work so much heat into the pads that a larger car would

Are we talking about a ROAD car or a TRACKDAY car?
Its a different matter, and yes, EBC suff tend to fade on race use, but provide more than enough stopping power for a road car.

I have the Minisport 7.9" 4 pot vented set which I bought for 2 reasons. 1) I converted to 10" wheels and needed smaller brakes, 2) Like many of us, I'm a bit of a "tart" when it comes to new bits.

One point worth mentioning is that my brakes will lock up the front wheels all day long. My understanding is, from previous threads, that the standard 8.4 set up, properly maintained, will do the same.

So, if for road use, and you say "mayfair" so I'm guessing 998 engine? Unless 1 or 2 above apply, service the standard brakes and spend the money you have saved on something else for your mini
