I don't know if it's just me (being IT retarded) or if it's more widespread, but I found about 6 months or so back Imgur has dropped off. I can no longer upload direct to albums, though I can move them there. So I have a files system there now with a zillion 'un-named' albums that if I delete, they also delete from where I moved them too.

I have emailed Imgur, but they were purposely being thick and not wanting to see the issue.

Just lately, I've found logging on to there very hit and miss.

So,,,,,,

Is Imgur now 'done' ?

What's the current suggested alternative that allows albums and is easy to use and of course, free ?

Imgur has become a royal pain. I know have to email my pictures to myself then upload them that way. I cannot for whatever reason upload directly from my Mac.

So another platform needed I think.

I did look a Google Photos as they claim they can be used in forums etc, however I could find a BB Code with them.

I readily admit I'm all thumbs where it comes to IT, so there maybe another code that works with the forum, but that's way above my pay grade.

Thanks. I've gone to ibgbb.

The only way I knew how to upload photos was using the "more reply options" but that seems to have gone now? (well didnt work for about 6 months and has now disappeared from my screen at any rate - I cant even post a screen shot to show what I mean now

I'm an IT dimlo and have no idea what Imgur is, and is it still the way to upload pictures (according to Spider's post of a few days ago) and how do I get them from my computer to this Imgur and then how do I get them from there to here

I am confused about BBC codes and whatever other stuff people are talking about and have no idea how to do it - saying "upload to Imgur and host from there" translates to me as "fly to the moon and get a unicorn on the way"

Can anyone give me.... I was going to say idiot guide but I am thicker than an idiot when it comes to computers so I need a "thicker than idiot guide" to adding a photo to a post/reply on here?

Step by step please even if its an obvious step to you it won't be to me

I know how to get a JPG file to my computer but then I am done

this is the way I do it on a PC

have your picture on the desktop ideally cropped to only the bit that is relevant and resized to something like 800 pixels wide

step 1 load up imgbb

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.jpg

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

step 2 drag and drop it onto that webpage

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2.jpg

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

choose 'don't delete'

step 3 choose 'BB code full linked' and copy that code (in the yellow box) into your thread on the miniforum

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.jpg

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

sometimes it adds an extra line of code which will come up as an advert for imgbb,  you can ignore that (don't copy if it comes up, just copy the first line)

example, ignore the bit in the yellow box

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4.jpg

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

and that's it done your image will show in your post

Failed already - I don't see the yellow box mentioned here:

"step 3 choose 'BB code full linked' and copy that code (in the yellow box) into your thread on the miniforum"

It says I can "create a new album" or I must "create an account"  in the imgbb stuff (highlighted in blue)?

They look like links do I need to click on them and do something?

Sorry no the yellow box was something I added just to highlight where the code is

You don't need an account just drag and drop the picture into the page and go from the bit where you choose don't auto delete
