This is great! I am making a trailer out of a previous front end write off. I will fit a tow bar and will just be fitting the tow ball on as and when I want to use it

The 'exhausts' can be used to pick the rear end up for smaller storage space.... saves flexing of the rear panel

Just noticed... its an Automatic...... O_O

Have you thought about cutting out the parcel shelf, seat lip, bins & back seat panels yet? they would remove a lot of the extra weight you've added with all the box steel. You should also get rid of any sound deadening & those door cards as you don't need it to be quiet in the trailer when towing it, saving you more weight.
What year is the tow car? You can't tow a trailer with a '96 on & it can only be less than 400kg total weight for pre-96 mini. If you're using a shorty to tow it you will need to reduce the wieght as much as possible, you dont want the trailer being heavier than the car!
Looking good so far though, keep it up!

Just wondered what the best distance between the rear of the Shortie to the front section of the trailer would be...

I've mocked it up and 36" distance seems good... Any thoughts??

Thinking of a Pick-Up conversion with the Fiat too.... Anyone done one?

Thanks

Made a tow Bar for Shortie.... 50mm box section -- Will allow 40mm box section removable tow bar to sleeve inside it :shades: .. save my shins :shades:

Tow bar T piece will mount below shortie seat and the angle piece will attach to rear of rear sub-frame with 40mm box strengthening set in to C channel to stop any flexing.
