had a real good weekend on the mini must of spent over 18 houres down the garage lol i finished the bulk head mod and i am realy happy with it would like some oppinions tho i did make it a bit big but i can get the manafold on realy easy and it has plenty of clearance hope fully i will have the engine running this time its in and the i will remove it once more to change the cluch and paint the engine bay and engine only thing im gutted about now is that i cut my manifold as i was going to bend it up but lucky my uncel is a welder for the RAF so i will pop it down to him wen i get chance to weld it up or i will look for a new one

i have also moved my coilover brackets over by about an inch as they wasnt sitting very nice i also need my suspenshion set up before it goes on the road as thats all over the place

Not done allot to my mini I'n the past two weeks as I have ran out of money to spend on it I was thinking of not using my crx loom and buying a mini tec loom only thing is that's for obd1 and my engine is obd0 can any one tell me the difference I think if I'm rite its the dizzy plugs if it's just that are the distributors interchangeable from obd0 to obd1

Rite after a few weeks of being to bisy to work on my mini i finaly got abit of time to do some work i have been picking up some bits as i come along them i bort a b18 gear linkage of a mate braking a civic so i choped that tonite and i can hear it clicking into all the gears even reverse but i cant prove this untill i have a running engine and cluch

Posted Image

it looks good to me im realy happy with it i will give it a lick of paint once i now it works but for now will just spray some paint over the welds to stop it rusting it sits under the car nice as well should have enough room for the exhaust as well lol

Posted Image

i am going to order a rad and exhaust next week so i can get all that mocked up and make shure it will all fit i also made some plates to help suport the subframe mini tec provide two of these but there just not big enough so i hade two and welded the, onto the floor should keep it all strong the pick below is compering the two different plates Posted Image

think that should keep it strong rite i didnt want to do this but i had to i choped the front end off :( it had to be dont i was going to change the front panel any way and the one wing had bit of a dent in it any way i can now work on the engine so much better the good bit is i have a full front end in steel panels and i have picked up a set of mini tec flip front hindges but not had time to play with them yet i also picked up a full crx loom wich i have started to feed through the buck head will get some more updates soon Posted Image

Glad to see you back on it :mrcool:

For your reverse, do you get a metallic sound when chucking it in gear or out as opposed to the other gears? if so you got reverse

Sorry don't know about the electrics side of things, I try and stay away from them!

i will take a pick of it fitted later i moved it over abit like what the ginger monkey did but to be honest i mite save up and buy a mini tec pedal box as theres no room for an air filter or the fuse box with the servo there it is also stoping the rad from cuming back and touching the distributor lol will upload a pick later

if you could upload a pic that would be a good help for me i was thinking of just putting a non servo brake master cylinder on my mini. i still need to try and fit the rad, inlet manifold etc so i will see how it goes.

as theres no room for an air filter or the fuse box with the servo

Relocate the fuse box inside somewhere, it'll be kept alot drier that way and one less thing to take up room where space matters hugely

I still kept my mini fuse box and inline fuses (all in the engine bay) as normal, but second time round I just extended the wires or pulled back in the cabin what I could and put both the fusebox and inline fuses behind the dash, my glovebox has no backing so they are all accessible if needed

If your using the honda fusebox or making your own then as you know its gonna take up some space, if poss then chuck it indoors, behind dash under dash rail or above the footwell, basically anywhere but the bay as you don't know what space your gonna have left, I do, not alot! :D
