So more of an update i have been keeping buisy playing with the mini most nights starting off by cutting the head lights out of my front end i used an angle grinder to cut the main of the circle out then i used a file and sand paper to round it all off in the end it looked abit like this

Posted Image
I had my yellow head lights tucked away off my mini for over a year how i missed them i love these lights all my mates used to hate them because they would blind every one lol
I also had a test fit of my front wheel arch looks very nice
Posted Image
I also braced my pedals just like mrthumb did on his they where abit weak and i think if they where pushed on to hard at the wrong angle they would have bent i would not recommend buying any thing from obp its all cheap crap and way i aslo put a bolt on the pedal to stop over throw once again mrthumbs idea

Posted Image
Posted Image
I also had to make a washer to straiten the altinator bolt up i think i was missing some thing but i just made a bit up instead
Posted ImageLooks like i was missing some sort of spacer or some thing but mini tec gave me nothing and there was nothing of my engine to match so i made this instead
Posted Image
Its only a piece of flat bar the same same as i used to brace the pedals with a hole drilled in it i then welded it to the bracked so the hole was in the center
Posted Image

This should be ok now i hope i then cleand it all up with a wire brush on a grinder and i put it back on the car
Posted Image
I also had to get a new belt as i changed the b16 pully for a b18 pully as the b18 pully had 3 wheels and i needed the 3rd wheel
Also had a few parts come in i sold my b18 for a nice little profit i wanted to keep it for a spare but i needed the money to get the car closer to the road so out if the money i bort some new metro 4 pot brakes so hope fully i will stop when i get going
Posted Image
I love big parcels just hate spending money
Posted Image
Posted Image
The kit came with every thing pipes disks pads fitting kit calipers
Posted Image
When the car was in pieces i attempted to remove the steering rack and put the mini tec plate on it not a good experience it will not some out i Evan unbolted the gear box and moved it forward but no luck so i just managed to get it on with it on the car not a fun job but what is a fun job on a mini like this any way this is the clearance i have not much at all

I also had problems with my drive shafts all ready i have not drove the car properly to this date and when i removed my drive shafts when i was changing the gear box the cv joint fell off the one side after abit of inspection the circlip had bent all ready these was the clips supplied by mini tec i had seen the problem before on 16v mini forum so i new what to do so i gave Honda a call and ordered two clips of them at £3 each i went and collected them a few days later this is what i came back with
Posted ImageThese clips are more than twice as thick as what mini tec use so for any one using this kit i would get them strate away and not risk using the mini tec clips the honda clips are slightly bigger but you can bang the cv joint over them and they are on there solid now i will have piks to compare them soom
I also gave the floor a nice lick of paint it made the inside allot nicer took 4 days to dry tho dam cold weather
Posted ImageA quick pike of the car some time last week i had all the hubs off to put new ball joint in and i painted them black i also then put the brakes back on after that but i have no pick of that at the moment
Posted Image
This is how the car was for a wile and it was making me abit depressed so when i got it back on wheels i took it out side for a few snaps and to clean the garage out
Posted Image
From the back
Posted ImageThe back of the car needs sorting out but the body work is my next job
Posted Image
This is the coilovers as heigh as they will go ant the mini tec bit is verry low and the bumper will be heigh up so i am going to make it look lower that it is i then backed it into the garage to do some body work there is still more engine work to be done but im doing some body work for now
Its looking mean in this pick :)
Posted ImageAs i am very much into jap cars and i drive a toyota im going for jdm styling on this mini im going to try and make it look like a jap race car i hope so i started on the back as that is very rough I thought some diffusers would look good with my jap can on the back so i nocked one up to see what it would look like
Posted ImageI did not use the bit around the exhaust the the difusers are staying for now so i nocked up another two and ended up with this
Posted Image
needs more tweeking but i like them i also did a big rust repaire on the back
Posted Image
I have wanted to do this for ages as it was bugging me so i made a panel by hand came out nice
Posted Image
I managed to weld this on looks good to me but im now out of gas so i hade to do some thing els a tes fit of the rear arch
i can see the cars image building up now
Posted Image
As you can see i have started sanding the body down its all going to bare metal as im finding rust spots every where evan with my da sander its taking its time but i wont a real nice finish on the paint

one side nerly rubbed down what a task i still have the other side the ack doors and roof thats if i dont go for a carbon roof

Thanks mate it's been a wile since I have done an update some of the work is a few weeks old

It is starting to come together I don't really have a dead line as some thing always gets in the way if me doing the mini but I would like to do some shows and race days in it erly next year

As for painting my dad always does the top coats and I do all the hard graft on the body I can do the filling and priming but I can't do the paint as I get abit exited and get runs lmao but we do use a full size air compressor and devillbiss paint guns my dad used to paint cars back in the day and is still quite talanted at doing it.

Thanks about the glanza I do love that car I had a soft spot for them when I was in my mini and after it got stole I thout what the hell I may as well have one I have to fork out for a new turbo this week tho so I can't spend that money on the mini but it should be running 180 bhp with a new turbo and for a 1.3 that's good

ye i know what you mean, im due an update soon but not having a laptop means i cant upload pics so this is getting sent from my xbox  and i might start the engine tomrrow so itll be a milestone update when i can :)

thats why i love about glanzas, theyre just stupid power from such a small engine but so many people up in scoland had them and lets just say they werent the nicest people so i got put off them.

youll have a good collection of cars once the mini is done, youll have to make that dificult decision of which one to take for a drive :P

Good luck with starting your car tommorow Kieran it really is a nice feeling to get it going for the first time only thing is you will wont to drive it lmao

My plan is to steal some on my dads no claims well if me and my dad can insure it on classic car insurance that would be great as it can just be a toy as I think it will be two harsh for a daily driver

Those OBP pedals are proper pants! They don't have a good reputation on here so good move on the mod, and I agree on the glanza - nice!

Looking good mate, keep at it

"i wish i new that the mini pedal boxes where that bad before i bort it Kam. The way obp describe it on there web site i thought it would be a problem free just bolt in job as they say its a direct replacement also the metal is just so flimsy if i had stood on the brake pedal at abit of an angle i would have bent the pedal over but thanks to Mr thumb that problem should now be resolved

:) every body seems to love my glanza its abit of a tuff car to live with every day because it slammed lower than my mini and it dont take kind to shitty roads around hear and speed bumps around every corner lmao

Yeah that last bit does sound like a mini to be honest!

Are you getting any shielding for your air filter? Once your rads on it'll be like mine where the air filter is right behind it, at standstill the hot air lingering about from the rad won't do it any favours especially as the space under the bonnet is tight, someone mentioned to me about it getting heat soaked? On the move it should be fine but if your looking for that traffic light GP start (who me?) or taking this to a drag strip sometime it definitely wont do it any favours

I'm still looking into maybe shielding it and running some duct pipe to it, its just space is bit non existence on mine...

Ok so not much of an update to do i have just been spending loads of time rubbing the hole car back to bare metal what a task that is wish i just had the money to drop it off at a body shop but i cant so i must man up and rub down lmao any way hear is a few picks of how she is looking now

Posted Image

I removed the boot as the old one was signed by all my friend when some one ran into the back of me and it had filler in it but lucky i had a spare i also got a new pair of boot hindges as the old ones where past saving this time whent to fit the boot it lined up perfect i was abit worryed abut it not fiting as the back end has had allot of panel work

Posted Image

from the side there are a few dents in the quater panel to sort out going to prime it up then fill it and straighten her up as you can see the door has been a few coloures in the past so its best to get all the paint off that as i dont wont any reaction when painting
Posted Image

and from the front

Posted Image

I also cut the front or the wings away ang test fitted the front arch

Posted Image

looks very nice i have decided to not to slam it to much at the moment i mite just slam it for shows as the roads around hear are just to bad

this is my coilovers as heigh as they will go so there is pleanty of room to lower the car and set the ride height

Posted Image

and the engine bay i got abit bord and i like taking picks of my mini :)

Posted Image

Posted Image

oh and i also bort a tidet roll cage off ebay should be hear in a few days cost me an arm and a neg but i need safety in a car like this

Posted Image

i will do a better update when i get more work donr but i am mainly rubbing down and doing odd jobs a still have abit of welding to do before i can prime it but i have no gas at the moment so i am abit stuck :/

[/quote,]Hi Kam i have thought of this problem but i have not realy done any thing about it as im trying my best to get the car ready for erly next year i was also thinking of shielding mabie have some sheet metal behind the radiator directing the air away from the air filter and out towords the wheel arch i have a few ideas when i get my radiator back of tom i will think of a few designes and get a few pikys up ,
