too right! at least your exhaust is tucked away nicely, driving the majority of british roads would be a challenge with it slammed .

well the back box is very low but its a pre bent exhaust on the back so i could argue its not my fault :shy: but im going to sort that bit out in the week wen i get time and the roads are **** lol wen i took the innerwing out they had allready cracked from the stress on the suspention on our roads.

no updates for a wile as i have been rely buisy as usual normaly fixing a different mini not mine well i had one of the best experiances of the build this weekend IT RUNS :D i sent my loom off to dave at vdm motor sort anout 2 weeks ago we both decided it will be easyer to just post the loom up with all the lenths then just drive up and pick it up so i collected the loom sunday it is a realy nice bit of kit dave realy nows what heys doing with vtec engines and looms he made my loom verry simple basicly plug the engine plugs in one wire to live from the battery then join two together this will be controled the the key when i get round to it and a livr to another wire for crank and thats it simple as the car started easy enough.

Think there is a small problem with the map sensor plug as it turns over dead then i play with this plug and it starts to go then it goes it sounds like a machine its realy raspy but very very loud vtec even kicks in yo i will try and get a video up but im not to good at stuff like that but will try my best

also i was down the scrap yard friday afternoon looking for a honda part and there was an aerodeck civic in the corner looked under the bonnet only to find a b18c4 i asked the guy how much £150 with the gear box happy days i wasnt leaving it there for that he cut it out on the car for me the day after engine is undamage i theb found more good news its got a s9b gear box with lsd that made me one happy chap i payed more than that for my b16

Your a lucky sod if it is!!! but you can just about make out LSD :shifty:

Look through the diff aswell, if you can see a bar in the way its not lsd, if you can see all the way through then pat yourself on the back again

Ok i tried mine on the back and considered it but then vouched for front mounting but i think i need a smaller alternator as it protrudes into the grille by about an inch

i would say the best place for it is at the back as its up out the way and you dont have to do and body mods for it to fit i think most honda altinators would be the same size unless you can find one in a scrapyard of a different engine how did you mount it to the front with a kit or did you make your own brackets ?

I made my own bracket It would be ok with a custom grille , I have seen race alternators at shows that are half the size if i can get one of those it should sort the issue out.

Some of them 'race' alternators on the market are pretty much the little suzuki swifts/jimny ones and the other tiny ones like on the daihatsu etc they are just painted up

The suzuki jimny one I had before (which I'm sure Burnard is running on his) is tiny at only 110mm wide body, only downside is low amps at around 40, even the mini one has more. Some of them race ones have got higher amps but are quite pricey, all down to how much stuff your running that needs some leccy power

Install a battery gauge and just keep an eye on it - especially if you find yourself driving at night when its raining and your rear window is misting up and you got some britney spears on the sub and amp :shifty:

Heres standard honda, later suzuki swift and small one on the end is from an '88 jimny, might be the same used on earlier swifts

Note how it mounts, theres some other smaller jap ones that mount like the other two larger ones
