I would love one but you would need a large chunk of cash in the bak pocket. I mean I have a minus myself and technically won't be as strong/light as this but it has the properties I need which is lightness, no rust and if I do get a nock it won't be as expensive to repair :) I do love this shell but I just couldn't buy one unless I had a lot of disposable income which I don't unfortunately

what would be good is if you could make these with tubbed rear arches and cut front arches for the slammed look i would pay 5.500 for it

i agree with this as basically anyone who would buy it will have speed in mind so tubbed rear arches is a defo

Its not actually a 'Full carbon fibre sprint' is it? As youve stated here:

The standard layup is -
2 layers Gelcoat - Colour of choice (please confirm once order is placed)
1 layer CSM
1 layer Quadaxel
1 layer Carbon Fibre.

Isnt it just basically like a minus shell with a layer of carbon over the top?

Id love to know the weight of it is compared to the minus shell.

It can be full carbon if required, but the quadaxel is actually a stronger layup, when encased in hand layed carbon.


no the minus is just layers of Chopped strand matt, very thick in places which is not a necessity, and isn't gaining much strength.

the carbon composite shell is around 30 - 40% lighter depending on spec and vastly stronger

Amazing, im sure like most can only dream of making a mini with this, I would leave it black carbon and polish it up and maybe
paint boot/bonnet but not entirely and some nice placed race decals/logos with black alloys!

I guess it would need an Iva what ever test to be road legal?

yes it would need an IVA, but i cant see any issues that could not be overcome...

Have you weighed the entire shell, boot bonnet etc included to get a final weight for this? How does it compare weight wise to a FG minus or steel shell?

The Shell shown in the images has been built to a customer specification that is above what we would recomend, but is Very Strong.
that shell had the following construction -

Black gel coat, 2 layers, 3 around seam lines.
1 layer 450 CSM
1 layer 2x2 Carbon Fibre 300gm
2 layer quadaxel at 90 degree rotation
1 layer 2x2 Carbon Fibre 300gm
at suspension and subframe mounting areas and additional layer of quadaxel and carbon where added.
at the join from upper to lower shell and bulkhead, the components where bonded, the stitched with another layer of quadaxel and a layer of carbon fibre.

that shell and all components have been weighed (including packaging - well wrapped, but not worth unwrapping until the parts are required) at 115 kilo

our standard layup will take another 20 - 30 kilo off that and is suitable for road use.

we could make it lighter still but would advise a full rollcage with subframe pickup points.

it is far lighter than a minus as they are bulked up far more than required.
