well guys, I've now brought every last thing i need to get the van built. last night i made the decision that the van is not going to l2b, we could get it painted and built by Friday but we would be rushing which is why i thought myself why spend all this time money and effort to rush it and not have the paintwork 100%, so ive gotta go home soon and put my red mini back together and take her instead.

 

The van will be done soon enough but will make its first appearance at MITP.

 

I'm gutted but not at the same time, as to me I'd rather her be 100% and not make l2b then get her there there and not be happy with her.

yup exactly, thanks.

 

i just know full well if shes not 100% on the paint work i will regret it big style.

 

the thing is now... i brought a 69 mini to sell on as is, tempted to stick an mot on that and take that, she will get loads of attention because of the fact she has ben vandalised and paint stripped, but perfect place to stick it up for sale.

 

going back home tonight or tomorrow and get it on the ramp and have a proper look at her and see if its a viable option to get her mot'ed.

Good call.

Deadlines on these types of projects are a good motivator but to rush at the end will always lead to disappointment.

Feel free to remind of this when I get towards the end of my project!

Sorry to hear that mate but again a good call, no point in not being happy with it. Different story but my clubby was blown over with paint few years ago now and just looks a mess I no what's under the paint and wish it was right so don't want to go that route with the sidewalk that has to be ten times better.

 

I would say taking the mk2 is a good idea and like you say get it up for sale. But your red mini is just cool....

 

Your call mate, either way I will come say hi :)

ill be there Saturday for when they open the gates hopefully, ill more than likely be in the red mini as thats still MOT'ED just engine less at the minute so will stick that back intomorrow wont take me to long, got another carpet set to stick in and going to sort all the door cards ect out.

Sold my ticket to another van owner so they could go instead.
