Had a spare rotton subframe laying about so stripped it down last night for a few bits and bobs to send off for blasting. Should have all my bits back by Saturday at the latest but may be done by Wednesday. Only in work Monday next week so can crack on with the van and get it all done !!

Few bits I stripped off last night, there all solid just surface rust





Also stripped down the heater so I can clean it all out and will get all the panels powdercoated to. Need to check the blower motor to see if she actully works or not.



Also my fuel tank that I thought was solid turned out to be covered in filler ! So turns out I maybe need a new tank if I cant repair it tonight.



Web stripping the rear arms down I noticed this where the spring has rubbed through the side of hub. Save to say it's scrap. Weirdly no marking on the Spring at all

Nice work have to say it's nice to see parts being stripped down and rebuilt and refurbished instead of buying new.... I am defo one for this method as well... Look forward to some more updates then :)

Ya true aha. Well for pretty much nothing done this weekend spent Saturday stripping bits for coating and then took then over to get coated, today I had to fix a car for a mate and got the rear hubs built for the van with new bearings ect

Turned out the passenger rear quarter is knackered and worse than the drivers 1/4 - 1-2 thick of filler !!!

Here you can see how thick it is

Had a quick look at the tank turns out there more than just the one whole













That's all folks I'm inly working Monday so I'll be done the unit all week cracking on,

Seems a shame that the other side is like that mate... I no that there is a fair amount of filler in the clubby and I hate it but will have to wait until his time comes... You replacing that side as well then?

Yup and bloody hate filler !! And yup gonna change it not gonna mess about want it perfect, new one already ordered will be with me end of the week, and the project I was gonna get last week fell through was a little mini pick up

Although I did buy another mini Saturday haha so now have 11

well I've just travelled an hour to mini spares in Oldbury to be told I cant order anything and get the black Friday discount they are doing apparently an online ordering only, or collection from potters bar, which isn't to bad except I have radius arms I want to exchange..... so tomorrow I have to travel 2 hours to potters bar

 

such a pain in the ass
