Think once you get the basic shape back its a case of working the roof gutter to how you want it... this poor van has been through the wars until you got your hands on it :) looking forward to seeing how you get that back

Well today I made some massive progress. Well in my eyes it was. The one job I have been avoiding. Been so scared of doing this job on the door frame...... Well it went to plan. Was a hell of a lot easier than I expected !!
Used the porta power again just to open the gap up a little more so the door would close fully and in the right place

Then it was time to measure up and do some chopping....
This was after I straighten a lot of the gutter out

When I removed this piece the twang it made was unreal was under so much pressure.
Quick offer up

What was removed

From the inside

I cut the inside panel around 7-8mm to short I have made a fillet piece to go in
Tacked in place

Now all in place and I got it half welded in and left it for the day didn't want to much heat transferring to the roof.
Got my panels gaps nearly there

Safe to say I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel !! Just glad this job is almost out the way.

Finished welded most of the frame back in last night.
Don't a little bit of grinding Before I welded it up.

Had to do some work on my daily as there was a horrible knocking noise from engine turned out to be tappets. Touch wood nothing else goes wrong.
Going to fit my black and silver plates to her tonight hopefully.

Will do a bit on the van if I get chance later

Well I thought it was going to be the hardest part of this restoration.....turned out to actually be really easy!! I would say it was easier than getting my front end lined up and on !!
