Then we're no actually transferring vin, we transfer the car.
As the person I spoke to at transport department said, "you can replace any amount of the car except the part with the identifier on it"; (vin)
The transport rules over here are so whaked even the head honcho's who run the joint don't know how it works.

well guys I got cracking this weekend.. I have sorted the n/s hinge out spot welded it back on.
also got the scuttle welded on..
and then.... the top meets the bottom for the final time... I clamped the 2 halves together and test fitted the windscreen to make sure it fits...and it did.. so I then welded the top and bottom together and then fitted the top dash rail
tacked into place
for some reason I didn't take pics of the top dash rail going in...
but she now one piece instead of 2
thanks Dan

I had enough of just sitting around all week, so went to mini spares and brought my cross member and brought the van grill section..... So thought old go my unit for an hour or 2 managed to get my front panel cut out and the grill tacked in and started to get it welded up, then started not to feel to good so had to go home again

All cut out and grill flush with the front panel just like the factory

Managed to test fit the inner a panel and a panel and test for door to see how well she fitted together, fitted rather well. Also removed the door skin from passenger door and found bottom rail is knackered so will have to order one from m-machine Tuesday.
Just test fitted the door skin to see what it fitted like in the door aperture

Then tried the door

Once u was happy the door was mostly there I removed the door skin.

Bottom of the door fairly solid just one little section that needs doing. And the top window runner rail is knackered.
Thanks Dan

My flap disks turned up today so I went down for an hour and grinded down the weld where I had welded the front grill in. I'm very happy with how it has come out.
Weld taken off nice and smooth :)

With some primer :)

It's not fully finished yet there's a few pin holes where I must have missed when welding. Just need to drop a spot weld on top and then grind that flat
Thanks Dan

Its looking really good, lots of rot removed and then you find the door! Good luck and keep up the good work!

Thinking of using a spot welder on my own project have you had to use different tips for the hard to reach spots? Their costly and I was wondering which ones I'd need...also they all seem to be 240v dies that mean using one of those yellow transformer things?
