Today didn't go to plan finished work late then got my hair cut and by that time I couldn't be bothered to go to the unit. So instead I've decided to go out on the town and get drunk... And then get up early and go to the van.
Updates tomorrow guys

Well I finally got the inner sills strengtheners on and got the load bed fully welded on.

Plug welds knocked off and panel primered

Not happy with my heritage bulkhead they can't even put the hinges on straight....
This side is straight

This side is all over the shop

See if fouls the inner wing so I'm going to have to remove it and put it on properly

Drivers side inner wing strengthening welded on and then inner wing welded on

Got my scuttle test fitted and fits perfectly

Top dash tail test fitted to

And finally before I went home
Got the front panel welded on

Also had to cut and shut these 2 inner wings together as mine was missing the vents

Thanks Danny

This is great reading, I keep an eye on these Mega builds. Keep going.
Just curious regarding the replacing of panels, how do you deal with the vin stamping?

I mentioned in another post about the extent you guys go to, to repair a car. I said you'd replace everything except the roof, this confirms it.

Thanks :) and yup replaced pretty much everythink bar the roof...didn't expect it to be such a big job when I first started..but at least I'll know it's solid haha
And the vin plate was in the original scuttle I have cut that section out and will weld it into my new scuttle :)

Thanks buddy and nope not long until she back down for good :)
And nope I've never herd of the bulkhead hinges being out before really annoyed me as that means I've got drill then and plug weld and you will be able to tell

Little tip Danny, drill the hinge bracket spot welds out carefully from the inside of the bulkhead being careful not to drill into the hinge bracket itself.
Once split and re-positioned, you can plug weld them back from the inside and grind the welds up nicely (much easier from inside than outside due to the lack of manoeuvrable space round the hinges) and then it will be invisible as if it hadn't been touched.

Here in Aus the rules are oh so wacky, you're not allowed to rebody a car with new body but you can replace everything except the piece with the number stamped on it. So if you buy a new body you have to weld it to vin section, you can't weld vin section to new body. Absolutely NUTS!!

Here in SA you cannot touch VIN tags or move them over to anything. They stay put . . .

Surely there would be an exception in this case though as the VIN is stamped to a panel that is very susceptible to rust and often needs replacing.
