ya defo one hell of a job and ive got a plan on how to do the bent roof and january im hoping if i get all my overtime money at end of january gonna order a comeplete floor pan from m machine as when they picked it with the forklift they bent the floor up slightly the tunnel it self is fairly solid but rather than trying to striagtening it all out gonna get a complete one after christmas hopefully ill start the strip down off the van and get loads of bracing in and get her blasted back to bear metal and ya defo have a big heart for these minis there a pain in the ass but i love them

Looks like it will keep you busy, how much did you give for it?

That thing on the manifold looks like the warm air intake for the air filter

my 1977 mini has an intake pipe connected to that piece. As R1minimagic said it some sort of a warm air intake.

Good luck with the build. it seems ok and in fair condition.

Thanks people for all the comments and there's a pick up near me which only 3 people know of me and the guys who told me it was there Haha i need find more room before offering him some money best bit my collection is i paid for them all lol and wasn't sponsored by my mum and dad like most young lads are lol

Send in the V62 and you'll soon find out! You have the shell that the reg belongs to and can prove it so you shouldn't have any trouble.

I already sent a v62 with just the vin number 2 weeks ago and the best bit is it says on there its not been declared scrapped

Wow.. lots of work there Danny... that roof 'issue' is fixable by a (very) skilled panel beater, but I'd say that will be your toughest job on this 'shell..
Floors are bad, yes- but you'd be replacing them anyway. Good luck with it.

I'd say it's very likely that someone is attempting to use the identity on another 'shell... if it does indeed date to 1983, check the gutter under the windscreen- it will have the VIN number stamped in it if it's original (looks like it is).

Even if it has been decleared scrapped, you can still get it back on the road with the original number. May require a VIC check when it's back together though.

Hiya that's is where i got the vin number from the scuttle and it hasn't been registered as scrap as the vic check came through clear and say scrap marker : no

ya with roof ive got a few ideas on how im gonna do it just gotta get a genertator as i havent got power down the garage and ya floors are bad gonna order a complete floor from m-machine some time in the new year i want to get my estate done first but will start on this and get it braced and floors removed and make a spit jig
