They have to be triangular. The fact that they are triangular warns other road users that it is a trailer. Check out caravans, trailer boards, pro built trailers.

Does it matter where I put them?? Could i get away with them under the bumper on either side of the valance - I could then weld some flat plates on to mout them on. If they have to be much higher then I'm gonna have big problems mounting them flat....unless I could get some sticky flexible ones?? do they have to be a certain size??
Cheers

ah..just clicked your link siggy - didn't realise I have to have a fog light, there goes the idea of mounting the triangles down there. Could I move the fog light a bit??
While on the subject does anyone know what the how to wire a trailer socket and what colour wire goes where?? All I know is the thick one (white i think) is the earth so that leaves 6 others??
Also just an afterthough - I have no foglight on my mk3, am I gonna have to fit a switch so I can have one on the trailer??
This jobs getting more complicated evry day!

Sorry posting at the same time again!
I might head down to a caravan place near me, they sell loads of lights and stuff so should know about the legalities....
