i have recently acquired a beam axle, similar to the one available from huddersfield mini spares, i am thinking of making my own tubular radius arms to go along with it to do away with the cast items as standard.

does anyone know of anyone else who has done such a thing? and possible some pics aswell?

i have heard of a company selling them but no-one knows who?

has anyone seen the billet ones that www.specialist-components.co.uk have available, as well as there other stuff, looks very nice, if a little expensive!

any info greatly appreciated

I thought standard radius arms we're hollowed, not solid cast?

The autograss mini lads make their own radius arms by cutting out the stubaxle from a standard item and fabricating it up out of square boxsection
unfortunatly i havent raced for 10 years so dont know anyone that has done it latly

Yes they are hollow as standard, but they are definitely a casting.

Have you seen the cast alloy items made by KAD? They are very light, but then the Specialist ones are both light AND gorgeous I suppose.

Remember that if you miss your grease service on the rear suspension then aluminium alloy arms will wear a lot faster than cast iron ones.

Hi did anyone manage to get hold of some pictures after? I am looking to do some thing simuler but use the mk 5 golf rear disk set up. The golf hubs have a bolt on stub axle which is easy to mount and the drums wouldn`t need adjusting any more.
Thanks
Jon

Any luck. Im in the same situation but im wanting ford zetec hubs on the back of mine due to the ford lattice wheels i want.
I know these hubs are perfect for a custom mini rear radius arm. As i have seen plenty of RWD pickups at autograss running siera rear hubs.

At th moment i got a metro radius. But i rather the mini radius arm due to the rear beam i got from huddersfield spares.
But nothing is working out at the mo.
I can use the bearings out of the metro in the ford hub. But i want to keep the abs ring in there and fitting it to the metro arm will crush it as the ford hub is wider than the metros.
Anyhow. What im ideally after is a custom radius arm that as said above. Would fit the beam axle (being the standard mini radius arm bearing kit in a tube) to a ford fiesta hub. So all i have to do is 4 bolts and the abs plug to fit the ford hub.
If anyone can help us please let me know.

Get some hubs machined to suit the arms you want to use?

You will not get the track you have with the metro arms if you use mini arms.
