the work on my block and head has been finished for a while but the guy doing the work is just waiting for my new 998 +40 thou pistons and mains to arrive, they should have been there Wednesday but they are now arriving to day hopefully.

Any reason you went for the +40 over +20? Could hurt a bit when you tell you insurance company at 17!
the bloke doing the work said that +40's work well so i went with that, it shouldn't make too much difference to the insurance as i'm going with classic insurance
+40 +20 it's all the same in the eyes of the insurers, it's going to hurt either way so i might as well have some fun

first we bolted in the crank shaft using new main bearings
then we rebuilt the pistons with 998 +40 thou heads and new big end bearings and piston rings

we didn't bother stripping the gear box/sump or differential as they were great when we drove back, there was no crunching and there was a smooth shift between all the gears gears. we just cleaned and painted the unit as a whole.

comments always welcome

looking great, but why the tie wraps, do the seals have to be stuck on before fitting??
