by the way, i have finalised the layout of my Ice system: two 5 1/4 inch speakers under the rear seat; two 6 1/2 inch speakers under the rear seat; two 8 x 4 1/2 inch speakers facing upwards in the base of the rear bins and two 4 inch speakers in the metro door pockets plus a usb head unit in the dash console i will leave the original parcel shelf speakers in the car but not connected up as they are quite old and won't last long with my musical taste
That doesn't sound like a very good plan to me as almost all the speakers will be behind you. Maybe put the 6.5's in pods on the front wheel arches?

and cut out my new boot board and fixed legs to the bottom of it to level and stabilise the floor
note: we have removed the arches and painted behind them and along the sills in chassis black so i can now refit them properly
tomorrow we are going to see a bloke for a quote for the paint job so it should be painted soon

I have just read this whole thread. Credit to you and your dad, it looks amazing, so far.
Just a couple of tips for you. rotate your exhaust clamps thru 90 degrees so the thread and nuts are not facing downwards. It reduces the chance of catching and damaging the exhaust if you gover over something in the road. Also , I would advise against using bars seal for the leak. Not only will it hopefully sort the leak, they can also block/ reduce water flow through vital waterways, thermostats and the rad.
If you can, get the leak sorted
Cheers
PS, am following this now :)

tomorrow we will adjust the exhaust clamps and fit a repair sleeve as we just couldn't fix the blow in the joint between the y piece and one manifold down pipe , fit the boot light bracket and switch, refit the arches+sill trims and then drop cliff down onto all four wheels
i have got some more contact adhesive so i will also put some more sound deadening down in the cabin

we finally sorted the blow in the exhaust but during the testing phase, the new choke cable frayed inside the sleeve that is now fixed and we then fitted the interior light switch for the boot light
tomorrow we will drop cliff down, finish a few tidying up jobs in the engine bay and adjust the boot lock catch as the boot lid is fairly tight now that the new seal has been fitted
