Hi rhys.hi all, today I : fitted my new boot seal that fits to the body rather than the lid; repaired and modified the original battery cover; removed, repaired and refitted the back dash panel which had tore at the join between that part that goes down the side of the dial cluster and gave all the pipes for the heater/fresh air vents and seat floor brackets a coat of black paint. no photos because there isn't that much to see really

You can get some stuff that actually cleans and sanitises inside your heater system.halfrauds sell it. I used it on my old puma after it had been stood about 9 months with a bad water leak round the windscreen. The mould etc that had built up inside the heater system was gross (almost made me sick when I drove the car) you just press the top of the canister and put it inside the car with the system on circulate and shut the door. It will also test your door seals lol. I know the minis system is hardly big but it may be worth while? Just a thought, although it would probably be pointless if you have taken the system apart and cleaned it by hand. I dunno.

hi joe, i've never heard of that stuff before, i have seen the stuff that you put in the heater system and then run and drain it to clean it out but never something like that, we stripped and cleaned my heater system before but the matrix is leaking slightly and it is only since we put anti freeze in the system did it actually start to leak but i have got some bar seal which will hopefully fix the leak but we have to have the system running for 20 mins for it to work so i will do that soon

Mine rear bin trim is the same although I am thinking about having plastic liners in my rear bins. I've had a look on minispares and I didn't know if http://www.minispare...ty=pb&pid=36353 would be any good for what you need?

hi joe, thanks for the link but i don't think that would do it, i was really after a pre moulded/shaped product but i can't find them anywhere. i was thinking about having bin liners but i plan to put my 8 by 4 1/2 inch speakers in the base of the rear bins facing up wards and then putting a thin cover over them so i can still use them as door pockets...i guess i will have to make do with what i've got and put up with a few scratches and dents
Cheers any way joe

Had another thought.. the trim is metal isn't it? Get it re-chromed although I have no idea on cost. Also you can get chrome effect paint. Maybe you could 'make do' with painting them until you can sorce some new parts? I think I have seen hycote chrome paint before..joe

hi joe, i have found some new trims on mini spares for just over a tenner which i think will be cheaper than re chroming plus it bends the trim once you remove them, well when i tried to it did i was searching for rear bin trim rather than rear glove box trim
cheers again joe

i made a template for a custom boot board which will be similar to that of the original cooper ones, it will be made from ply wood and covered in some of my old carpet and i used the box that my arches came in to make the template - recycle, the possibilities are endless
my dad cleaned up my spare wheel which is an original wheel from the factory, it would have been nice to have the original wheels but i like mine non the less
and we wired in my custom boot light, it is VERY bright as it is an LED fog light it is wired up to a toggle switch that is released when the boot lock disengages the body. please excuse the poor quality iphone picture
tomorrow we will try yet again to fix a small blow in the exhaust, remove my arches and brush paint behind them and the sills, and then drop the car onto it's wheels and run it up to temperature to put a bar seal in the heater system
