i always wanted to convert the bonnet release to internal as the internal locking grill looks nicer in my opinion and it is an added security feature, but the kit is a little over priced for what it is so i am going to make my own...this might sound a little over the top but as the saying goes "look after the pennies and the pounds look after them selves"

so here is what I've got so far...



...I had this cable lying around and it just needs a little trimming of the length and then you will never know the difference



this is the standard locking mechanism that was on the car...just cut off the handle that sticks through the grill and tack a small plate to the inside of what is left; tack a plate at the opposite end to the swinging arm; drill a small hole through the end plate and through the plate on the end of the cut down arm: prime/paint and job done

we finally moved cliff to my dad's mate's work shop today ...i'll let the pics do the talking...



due to the slope of the drive way and the length of the lorry, there was a fairly large distance between the floor of the garage and the back of the beaver tail, lucky we had ramps then...



...and a winch





my dad's mate's unit is only on the industrial estate near us so it is ideal for us



check out the bling on this truck









this lorry may be a little over kill, don't you think







i'm off for two weeks now and my dad has booked next week off too so we have 10 days to really crack on with the body repairs:

- replace front panel
- replace front wings
- replace scuttle + closures
- replace A panels
- replace front floors
- replace outer sills
- repair inner sills
- replace rear sub frame mount ends
- replace rear valance + closures
- repair lower rear quarters
- and any other repair patches we find along the way

hi pal, well my birthday is the last day in may and i am pretty sure it'll be done by then...i'd like to get it done a few weeks earlier so i can take it to as many summer shows as i can...so asap really but i don't want to sacrifice quality to get it done quickly, i'd rather it take a bit longer and be spot on

the next show we're going to will probably be "mini show & spares day" in Malvern on the 1st April as it's the next near-ish show to us

is that Malvern show any good?, i was going to go, but peoples been saying its not very good :/ and its a good old drive for me to get to so just wondering is it worth it :/.... builds looking good by the way :) the mini looks so small on the back of the truck haha......

i don't think that would fit on my drive ...it would be really useful if the arm could fit in my garage and lift cliff out in one go, that would have saved a lot of time , i like the fact that they have raised one of the rear axels even though the front left wheel is off the ground

my dad brought back my scuttle from work today...i decided to weld up the spare wiper arm holes as this will de-clutter the area under the wind screen







i also picked up a new blade fuse box to convert the old glass fuses, there is space for six fuses rather than the original four so i can wire up some spot lamps, air horns and any thing else i fancy plus the blade fuses are more readily available



we are starting on the body work tomorrow morning so i will update every night for the next week or so...stay tuned people
