Hello,

I am rebuilding my master cylinder, and after removing the circlip and the washer and the first internal seal the piston still won't come out! I have tapped it on wood and tried to pull it with pliers but with no luck!

What could be holding it in?

Many Thanks

Second, but mine lies flat in the engine bay. Have I just not disconnected something?

Hi,

this is what is inside

It is probably that you have some gunk in there making the seals tight, keep knocking it carefully and easing it out with a screwdriver and it should come eventually. There are no more clips or bolts stopping it !! Take the seals out from under the resevoir bottle to prevent any vacums forming, may help.

Never had one of those to bits but many tandem cylinders have a pin that is accessed by removing the reservoir

Yes

Yes I have removed that pin, it holds in the secondary piston!

Fixed! Just took a tap with a hammer eventually. The initial, wider part of the bore had a bit of surface corrosion which I think was holding it in!
