Having had a very unpleasant experience with MRA minis – I would like to give Martin Altria another chance to put things right. I don’t normally blog – but the way my son has been treated by MRA is completely unacceptable.

A sum of over £4000 was paid to MRA (MRA Engineering Ltd t/a MRA Minis). After 18 months of chasing the work and parts ordered it became necessary to take matters further legally. Despite many attempts to reclaim the sums or obtain the goods and services, finally and regrettable it became necessary to use the courts and a CCJ was obtained by the local court for over £2500 which is the amount paid minus goods supplied. Shortly after the CCJ was issued, MRA Engineering ltd went into voluntary liquidation, leaving little chance of recovery of the debt.

Now, MRA minis is still trading but now under a new Limited Company – Airport Line ltd. This with Martin Altria’s name and contact details still on the MRA minis website. I am sure this is legal acceptable - but morally??

This information is all on public record.

Mr Altria has come up with many excuses why he shouldn’t pay up, such as not having received the cash (even though we have all the payments documented by MRA!) or how the requirements changed etc etc. Now of course his excuse is that MRA Engineering is in administration.

In view of this I would like to offer Mr Altria a choice to either defend his actions or pay up the sums he took.
So, I am suggesting he either:

1: Agree for me to release all the documentation sent to him and the court when the CCJ was issued, so other TMF members can make their own mind up whether they wish to deal with Mr Altria themselves; or:

2: Repay the amount in the judgement and prove he is a man of his word.

We would welcome releasing all this documentation to anyone who wants to see it. If he does not agree then i believe that will speak volumes in itself.

If he decides to pay up, I will of course make sure everyone who has seen this post is aware that he has kept to his word and paid up. He will also get a glowing reference that he is a man of his word

Over to you Mr Altria…do you agree for me to release all the info?

I'm new to the forum - i havent posted before - but it's not a new thread. I Want to provide Martin Altria the opportunity to put things right for my son. Unfortunately i have had to resort to to a blog, but I did give him plenty of notice I would do this. I had no response yet again.

Here we go again! I said before and I will say it again... the company you are complaining about are no longer trading...do you think that by posting this stuff on here will get you any money back? NO it wont...you need to contact the liquidators and make you claim through them...And basicly stop trying to make this some sort of personal vendetta against Martin....His company just went bust and I would have thought you might understand that its no longer in his hands...Im sure if you read his replys to the "other" thread you will see that he is doing his best to sort things out...

And NO, I have no financial ties to this company, But I do understand how liquidation works...

Maybe he could start by giving him the gearbox that was paid for and built for him which Martin refused to let him have and is still sitting in the workshop. That would be a good start huh? Or is that too much to ask either??

as it has already escalated to a court case, you may well be wasting your time posting on the forum...

if it was escalated to a court case you shouldn't realy be bringing it up here because you could end up with nothing for your troubles... this was not a smart idea and you should go through your solicitors or the courts only........ it does not concearn any of the rest of us so please stop :tumble:

I understand how you feel and why but that's the thing with limited companies. You didn't pay 'Martin' a penny, you paid MRA Engineering Ltd for the work. MRA Engineering Ltd are no longer trading.

I get what you are trying to do but the company you paid for work no longer exists, the fact that Martin is working under a new company name is neither here nor there.

I would be upset too but I think you are weeing into the wind a little here.

I think its safe to assume that you are rick spis dad?

We went through all this the other month and as far as I can see no good will come of going though it again.

Equally I am not happy about TMF being used to essentially blackmail another user.

If you have a legitimate case then take it up with liquidators, please don't use TMF as your battleground.
