Unfortunately things didn't go well today.  1st time out my engine quit on the 2nd lap, didn't even get my tires warmed up.  Had to be towed in.  All it was was a loose wire on the fuel pump, a easy fix.  So out I went again.  1st time I put power to it the damn master link in the drive chain snapped.  I have spare links but I was so P--ed I just loaded it and came home.

I'm going again next weekend.

Yer I can get like that some times, its best to walk away and fix it later. That way things don't get broken.....

Better luck next time.

Gust got home from the track.  The car and the shifter worked great,  Only problem is they ran counter clockwise instead of the normal clockwise so it took me all day to learn the track.  ORP is very technical, 400 feet of elevation change, most corners blind so I was backing out almost every corner not knowing what was next.  But by the end of the day I was doing pretty good and so did the car.

It was a very cold day so my tires never got over a hundred and by the end of the day it started raining so the day was cut short.  But all in all a good day.

No I didn't.  I didn't want to show off how slow I was going.  Then just when I was getting a feel for the track and went to get the camera for a full on run the skys open up and we got rained out.

But I'm headed up again in 3 weeks and will shoot some videos then.

I found a local shop that can get me 630 chain so I put a new chain and rivited master link on it yesterday.  Hopefully this will end my broken chain problems.

We went up to Oregon Raceway Park yesterday for a few test and tune hot laps.  Mostly wanted to make sure I had the new paddle shifter dialed in.  It worked just fine.

Everything was going good except my low oil pressure idiot light wire fell off the sensor, but my gauge showed good oil pressure so all was OK.

I did 4 or 5 laps, everyone getting better than the last.  I went from a 2.06 best previous lap to a 2.03 then disaster struck.  The engine just quite.  I couldn't find the problem until I got home and my timing chain broke.  Haven't pulled the head yet soI don't know about valve damage but expect the worse.

Anyway I posted the video on my face book page.

Well I finally got around to pulling the motor today.  Just been to busy with other projects to get to it.  (Been shopping for a new motorhome)

I can see just by looking into the intake ports there is valve damage.  So off the my engine builder's tomorrow

My engine is fixed and back in the car.  Besides a new Vance & Hines timing chain I had to replace all the valves and guides.  Not cheap!

Took it out for a short street curse and all is good so it's now loaded in the trailer.  We leave for sunny Valif. the day after Christmas.  Over Jan. and Feb. i hope to hit every track in Cailf.  And maybe even Firebird International in Arizona.  Time will tell about that one.  I'll post video's here and on my Facebook page as we travel.

Birdman, I just read the post about the engine going bad, did you get to the bottom of why you had low oil pressure?? I am trying to get an idea of what is really required for a Busa in a car, there are companies that want to sell you all kinds of things claiming you need them for a bike engined car but in your experience what would you say is definitely required?? and anything you dont need??
