Well I just took the Minibusa out for a test drive with my new street legal license, and HOLY S**T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This new engine dynoed 20 hp less than the turbo engine put accelerates much harder and quicker than the old turbo engine. It really caught me off guard as I wasn't expecting it. This baby pulls hard enough to scare the crap out of even me. Don't really know why, other than eliminating 50 lbs of turbo, manifold, intercooler, waste gate and so on.
I have a track day Monday, boy am I going to have some fun. (or kill my self)

The track day went great. The new engine ran food and stayed cool all day. I didn't like the new tires i tried, didn't seam to have much grip.
Now here's the bummer. One of my goals was to break 2 minutes for a lap. My best time was 2.08 minutes. So close. I know I still have plenty of time to gain once I get my tires and suspension dialed in.

Good and Bad! Did another track day and with suspension adjustments and the good tires I got down to 2.05. There's a couple of places on the track where I'm lifting when I shouldn't when cresting a high speed hill. The car feel light to me, so I've added a new larger spliter for the front and ordered a wing for the back. Then th engine started knocking so home I came.
Lost a rod bearing. I thought I had my oiling problems solved but I guess not. After playing back my in car video's I saw in the video my low oil pressure light flash a couple of times on hard braking. This is something I hadn't noticed when driving but could clearly see in the video. So I repositioned the low oil pressure light to have a clear view, not half hidden by the steering wheel anymore, and I guess I'm going to bite the bullet and go with a dry sump oil system.
Are any of you guys using a dry sump oil system and if so do you like it? And who's kit or what brand are you using?

I installed my wing today. 1 by 3" aluminum support arms that slide over steel plates welded to the frame, then held together with Pip Pins. Right now the wing is tilted for maximum down force but that can be adjusted. And I think it's to high, so I will probably cut the support arms some to lower it. Time will tell.

The classic compromise between drag and downforce.
First glance says the aerofoil looks too steep, and I agree its a little too high in the air.
Interested to see what the front splitters gonna look like.....

I've been working with Mike Down at Down's Engineering about his dry sump oil systems. His normal oil pump placement won't work with my car, but with a lot of picture exchange we think we have a plan worked out. So as soon as I get the engine back and in the car I'm heading down to Down's Eng so he can custom fit the oil pump. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll be back on the track.

I also have been talking with Chris at Z-Cars about a new shifter. They use the one called "FlatShift". They just use the ignition cutout with the mnual lever. But I want to use my buttons.
There is a company in America, Rilltech Racing that carry's the Flatshifter so I have one coming from them. I am getting the "Pro" with throttle blipper for clutch less up shfts and down shifts via paddles or steering wheel buttons. This was shipped today so I should get it maybe friday.
