No oil pressure alarm before, just the gauge which I didn't watch durning hard cornering. The oil level was good, just to many "G"s in cornering for the stock oil pan is my guess.

I just got my engine back from the shop last night so it's out to the garage to start working on getting it in.

Just got back from a joy ride, not hard or long, 5 miles maybe. just enough to bring it up to temp and check for leaks. All went well.

Up dates. I am a thin guy and get bounced around allot in the seat. So I made a spray foam insert, between me and the seat so now I fit nice and tight. I also went to Pyrotec, a local company that makes and sells racing equipment. I needed a new helmet. They had a rack of close out fire retardant racing suits so I picked up a pair of pants and a jacket, all for 70 bucks.
But the big news was Wed. I took the Minibusa to Oregon Raceway Park for a club track day. Would you believe only two cars showed up, me and another. The race track officials said do what you want, clockwise, counter clock wise, accretion runs, burn outs, they didn't care. I ran the **** out of the car. Wore my self out. Found out the car has way more potential then the driver. I have a ways to go learning how to drive to reach the full potential of this beast. But practice makes perfect so I'll keep at it.

That sounds like awesome fun, very jealous.....I dont get to the track often enough to get the most out of mine but do love the experience every time I get on track.....keep us posted Birdman.

Bummer. I was signed up for another track day but it was canceled. Once again only 2 cars signed up and they wern't going to pay track workers, ambulance and EMT's for only 2 cars.
Next event will be my 1st AutoX at Portland International Raceway Sept 9th.

I took the Minibusa to the track again last Sat. Made about 6 or 8 good hot laps. Each time I got a little more comfortable with the track and each lap I got a little better. Then 2nd session out I got a bit to aggressive and spun out. Didn't hurt anything BUT, the engine died. When i started it I had no oil pressure. I limped back to the pits with only 10 to 15 psi. Couldn't see and damage or oil leaks anywhere. I called it a day and fired it up to load it in the trailer and had full oil pressure. Had full oil pressure unloading it at home and full oil pressure when I took it out for a test drive around the neighbor hood. I pulled the pan and everything is tight and in tack.
Any ideas what caused the loss of oil pressure after the spin out?

this is only a piece of info i heard from chris at zcars, he had spun his car out somewhere and what had happened was when the wheels went backwards while in gear it had broke teeth off the starter gear and the teeth from the gear had went into the sump and caused a major engine rebuild. i would take the starter gear out just to have a check that all the teeth are intact.
its all i can suggest i am afraid and please dont quote me on this "im only throwing ideas out there in the hope that you solve the problem". if teeth are off the gearwheel you will be in for an engine strip down. my fingers are crossed that its something more simple.

Cheers,
Ed

That's nice to know Ed. Thanks, That did happen to me once but it didn't take the teeth off, but sure wiped out the armature. Now I know why. In this case I did pull the pan and no debris in it and the starter still works smoothly.

Did you do Mike Downs' overdrive oil pump gear when you installed his wet sump kit? If so, I noticed when I put mine in (before I decided to go dry sump) that the tooth engagement was a little looser...I wonder if maybe something could have gotten out of whack because of that reduced tooth engagement in your spin...probably worth a call to Mike in any case, as I think he's seen almost any oiling issue on the Busa motors imaginable...he's built well over 500 engines at this pt...

Yes I did use his gear, oil bypass kit, and his new pan. I did talk to him and like everyone else I talked to he didn't have a clue. Since that incident I have put 4 or 5 miles on the car and the oil pressure has been holding good.
