This probably was a big step for you, but a little step for mankind!

Congrats on the shakedown!

I started on the aluminum for the foot area yesterday. Just came back from the paint shop and the body was painted this morning. It really looks good.

I got the body back from the paint shop Monday so it's all installed. Front and back windows (lexan) are also in. I made my own air scoops out of clear plexiglass to direct cold outside air to the air filter on one side and the oil cooler on the other side.

Still need to install the tail lights, bolt the seats in, and make a dash. (I ran out of aluminum).

Now if it would only quit snowing I could go have some fun.

wow this looks awesome! The nose is a bit like mine actually. This is all one part except for the doors isn't it? is it all glassfiber? I see you don't have to take of the whole front in order to get under the front "bonnet". the colour is just awesome, I hope you won't be ruining it too much with stickers and stuff.

Nice plates also...

Well Birdman I have to hand it to you, this is the quiickest build I think I have ever seen, I know its a track car rather than a road car but still its gone together in supersonic time...... I look forward to vids of it on track.

Well guys, thanks for all the complements. I took it out around the neighborhood today and couldn't be happier. Put about 20 miles on it, mostly slow stuff but did run it through the gears once. This baby screams. Everything A-OK, rides smoother than my 68 Mini, fairly quiet, handles great, no complaints or things needing at all. I did adjust the ride height when I got home. It settled about an inch from driving it.
I still need to seal all the aluminum, put the outside mirrors on, put sway bars on, and finish the dash.

Z-Cars should have shipped the misc. sway bar pieces by now, so hopefully I'll see the parts in a week or so. My cockpit adjustable set shows up tomorrow, so it's GAME ON at that point.

by the way, I'm officially jealous.

...put sway bars on...

I spent a bit of the day today fiberglassing all the holes and cracks where the aluminum joins the fiberglass body. My aluminum for the dash should be here tomorrow so hopefully after that there will be no more sand and gravel inside from the slicks.

Like a Cannonball run - you drive East, I'll drive West, we'll meet in the middle!
