Yes it is installed, it's the one from Z-cars and total travel from idle to wide open is 4 inches.

Is that pedal movement or cable movement? ...sounds like pedal movement, yes? if it's not too much trouble, I need cable movement just in case our linkages have different ratio at the pedal.

Yes that was pedal movement. Cable travel is exactly 1 inch.

Well this is getting pretty frustrating. When Z-Cars sent my kit they sent the wrong wheels, wrong offset. So I have been waiting 2 months for the correct wheels to come. They came yesterday and guess what. The back wheels still hit the swing arms, not much, but they do rub enough to be not acceptable. So I'm going to have to rework my swing arms, cur a notch and re weld to give me the clearance I need.
To further complicate things the wet slicks I got are two big, the Avon dry slicks fit with in the fender openings just fine but the wet Avon's are bigger and hit the body. So they will have to be replaced.
And the tire shop that mounted my tires yesterday put some of the wheel weights on the rim and they are hitting the swing arm and will have to come off, and the wheels re-balanced.
Just some more glitches in this never ending saga.

would hubcentric spacers not work? i would say that is a better option than chopping the rear arms.

As a person thats been through a Zcars build I can confidently say that a 'never ending saga' is a very good way of putting it.......

I have said before in other posts that a Zcars build is not a regular kit car build, theres a certain amount of fettling that is required and once you've bought the kit there's so so much more you need to fabricate/alter/buy to finish the build, thats if what you've been sent in the first place is the right stuff. I will openly admint to points in time during the build I wanted to sell it/burn it/cut it up into little peices but you get through all that and its worth it in the end.

All in all I think Z-cars quality is outstanding. But their customer service sucks. I have built many a car before and am well aware of the "Tinkering" that needs to be done as the build goes along. But I think supplying wheels that won't fir is a bit out of question.

Now I can't add spacers, which would be easy. Because the wheel studs in the hubs are just barley long enough as it is. Adding spacers would not give me enough threads for the lug nuts. Longer studs could be added but I would have to tear the whole rear susp. apart to get the studs out. There's not enough room to pound them out and replace them. Part of the bearing housing is in the way. So I'll just notch the trailing arms a bit, 1/4 inch will be enough.

sounds like a plan, it can be the simplest things that cause the biggest headaches, and the problem yuou have is that every part you order from Zcars takes weeks to reach you (very frustrating), however, hang in there birdman, you will get there, my current project is eating the hours and £££££ or $$$$ in your case.

I notched the trailing arms so mow I have a good 3/8 inch of tire clearance.

I'm taking the body to my painter today. Just going to be white. I'm hoping to get it back Sat but time will tell.

Well I did it. Took theMonte Carlo down the road. Steers straight, brakes straight, motor ran fine. All I can say is when the turbo kicks in you better be hanging on. I AM IMPRESSED!

Only one problem, no body, no aluminum interior, and a gravel driveway. BG!
