I've read of people praising Hammerite smooth paint but I would like to know peoples opinions on Rust-oleum Combi-colour?

I've used it at work to paint a shipping type container, after Kurusting it, and it looks pretty good. Things it has going for it are a wide range of colours, remains semi-flexible & can paint straight over rust (not that I would), plus it's only £37(incl delv) for 2.5L which will cover 25m"

I'd like to do a couple of coats on the underside of my car, arches & maybe subframes, so would it be good to use? Has anyone else used it before?

Yeah I've seen a couple of videos of people using Combi-colour applied with a roller. The Rust-oleum Website even has a vid of a camper getting painted. If you want a laugh try reading the description at the bottom of that page ;)

Chassis black does look good but my budget doesn't stretch that far, it's nearly triple the price for the same amount of paint! I think I'll give the Combi-colour a go.

Next question is should I paint the engine bay the same colour as the outside of the car or should I paint it black like the underside of the car?

It's a matter of personal preference I suppose. Painting it a different colour can tend to look a bit like a DIY bodge though in my opinion, so I'd paint it body coloured so that it's the correct colour. But then I'd also paint the underside of the car in body colour too, for the same reason.

I could use the combi-colour first then over coat it with the correct body colour for good protection & the right look. I will have to try & get the rust-oleum as close to my body colour to do the underside to make that look better as well.

Is there a correlation or cross reference between the mini paint codes to the RAL colour chart ? Or do I just need to look & pick a colour?
Aparently mine is code MUM (Zircon Silver) instead of MNF like it should be. (previous owner respray)
