Just tried to get some panel through my local supplier and discovered that Hadrian had gone into administration?

Anyone know anymore about this?

They are still trading, rang them on Friday at work. Still answered the phone as Hadrian pannels, but they use our SEL Imperial account code. The thing im annoyed about the most is that they are now charging Imperial prices rather than Hadrian consdiering it's a Hadrian pannel with their sticker on it!

Hadrian have been bought over and are shutting alll depots except Hexham. You can still get panels if they have stock. Thus not all panels are available. They have no lower windscreen corners 270/271 from memory. Will let you know what turns up in my orer tomorrow.

Latest bit. they have some stock, but they have re labelled it wrongly. They are currently re re labelling their stock correctly. So if they have the panel, they will supply it, just possibly not the correct one at the first attempt.

yeah i got an email telling me that there being bought out by imperial. actually magnum were bought out by hadrian last year or the year before thats why sometimes you get a hadrian sticker underneath a magnum one or vice versus.

why should you use hertiage panels?
- they arent allways a good fit and most still require tweeking, as do pattern panels
- they cost more
- they are less available usually (ie. pattern panels available from more local stockists)
- a pattern panel will last as long if fitted and preped/painted/protected properly.

Secondly, theres still others producing panels

Plus not all genuine panels are available, you try finding a gen inner sill or flinch/hinge panels for example.

They always fit much better than pattern, yes they require a small amount of tweeking not major stuff like hadrian and magnum pattern panels I have used in the past, half the time they are too short too long or just plain wrong, for example the door hinge panel they make the stamping on them is the wrong way round! the inner sill on the floor pan is too short the boot repair panel the long one was too short and the curve/radius where it meets the boot hinge panel is completely wrong, Took me ages to fit that panel.

- they cost more

They cost more but they have a decent finish on them you don't need to remove first, they are made of the correct guage steel, they actually fit properly and to be honest just the amount of time you save fitting genuine as opposed to pattern more than make up for the cost. and you are supporting a company trying to keep the genuine parts in production and who care about quality.

- they are less available usually (ie. pattern panels available from more local stockists)

agreed they are abit harder to get hold of locally, which is a shame.

- a pattern panel will last as long if fitted and preped/painted/protected properly.

yes agreed as long as you remove that horrible finish they come with. to put it into perspective I have one genuine wing and one non genuine wing on my mini fitted at the same time, the genuine one is fine however the pattern one has rusted through and is now being replaced with a genuine one. I believe as the original finish wasn't removed prior to painting.

Secondly, theres still others producing panels

There is nothing wrong with using pattern panels, yes they take more work to fit but it can be done with very good results if you know what you're doing. I can't see why everyone should be using heritage when you still have to work them to fit and they are more than double the price.
