Just wanted to show this too a friend of mines panel van. Not on bags and probably as much work gone into it, he uses one of his two busses daily

Notches in the chassis

And more, these are for the dropped and narrowed front beam
Posted Image

It has a 6 and half inch narrowed beam, is very low and on big wheels with cross ply tyres, the front arches are tubbed too
Posted Image

It is for sale if anyone is interested,

YIKES suprised you kept that rear subframe on, alot of welding :o
are rear subby's expensive out there?

good job on the tubbing, good arch to rim ratio ;)

also what are those springs where the donuts should go?
i've got a similar set on my car but look nothing like that :S

Subframes are not expensive per say. Maybe about $300 for a freshly blasted, powder coated rear subframe. Bought one last year for a customer. As far as the springs, they are Sracer blue springs. Sracer makes a bunch of Mini products out of California that are pretty nice pieces. Blue springs are basically the grandpa springs. I installed a set of red ones on the last car I built and enjoyed the ride quality with 13" wheels. So since the reds were out of stock this go around I figured I would try the softer version since this car is the family wagon, and will have the newborn cruising in the back seat. Working on installing rear belts in the Estate for the car seat. While I know they are not everyones cup of tea, they fit my needs. Most of my cars are low and slow. I have had plenty fast cars, building another one now if I get the itch.

Minis with loads of poke just look rediculous to me, I know it's harder as minis are so small. But just because it's popular doesn't make it look good to me

That Porsche engined Mini is undoubtedly cool, nice to see something more inspired!
