My next project...

Because I'm a sucker and spend way too much money on toys...

Losi Micro Crawler (rock crawling, Rc style) with 1/24 scale Pajero long wheel base body.

The idea of this is that you end up with an awesome RC rock crawler... but instead of a poly bodyshell with rubbish detail, it's also stunning as a static model.

I'm waiting for the stuff to come from the Hong Kong lands... lets not talk prices. :)

That sounds like an awesome project, good luck with it Craig! I'm a bit of an amateur modeller myself (used to collect static 1/18 model cars and recently gotten into Revell/Airfix type kits), and whilst not quite the same as R/C stuff, I can appreciate the fine detail and craftsmanship that goes in to these sort of things

Love that video as well, the way the cars moved looked a lot more realistic than I was expecting :P

Sven.

Consider this my build thread, Davey :P

Sven, thanks a lot :) Get some pictures up of your work and share them here if you like, I'd love to see them. I have been buildling 1/24 mostly Tamiya scale plastic kits for a few years now. Also play around with lots RC stuff, 6ch helicopters mostly :)

This came this morning from Modelsport. Can't go wrong for the price. 2.4ghz radio with servo and tiny receiver.

Before I got my Mini, all I ever used to spend my money on was 1/18 scale die-cast model cars, and it did become a bit of a ridiculous obsession if I'm honest! I don't regret buying them all though, my collection must be worth a couple of grand at least I reckon :P I was collecting for about 7 years and stopped on about 220 odd cars I think, and bearing in mind that they are all around say, 9 to 11 inches long, they take up quite a bit of room! I ended up taking over almost the entire wall of bookcases in the spare room, god knows what happened to all the books that were there :D I made a video a year or two before I stopped collecting, which gives you some idea of how many there are:

I only stopped because I bought a Mini and now I just spend my money on that instead. Now that I've moved down to Bristol from Birmingham for uni, I found that I was getting really bored and didn't have much to do on quite a few evenings, so thought I'd visit a model shop in the city that I went to a couple of times a few years ago when I collected the 1/18s, and pick up a model kit. I did a few model kits when I was younger, that usually ended up with lots of swearing and broken bits of badly painted plastic all over my floor, but since I got into detailing some of my 1/18s I got quite handy painting small details and such, so thought I'd have a proper go at building a model myself. I bought a kit for a Revell 1/24 scale '66 Shelby GT-350, and I've only just gotten the basic chassis together and am in the process of assembling, painting, and adding decals to the dash, so I still have quite a way to go. I am doing it really carefully though, right down to every last detail. I spent more on paints than I did on the kit itself >_< I'll post up a couple of pics when I've progressed a bit further with it

This has reminded me that I must put my Micro Rally back together, it's been in pieces for months now :shy:
4wd is so much fun with solid tyres. Kitchen Gymkhana FTW!

I will keep an eye on this, as I want to put a model shell on it at some point. Hopefully a Mini :D

goodness me... those rc days come flooding back...

used to have a hpi rush evo that i shoved a tmaxx engine in... wheelied like an utter sod and eventually gave up and sold it when it kept popping diffs... haha

then got a brushless mini monster... made by vemon i beleive? that was fecking mental:D

had some other ones since... brushless mini lst, thunder tiger ts4n (again converted to bigblock) etc etc...

havent had my eye on the rc scene in a while... im liking this new 1/24 scale stuff... considered a micro t for a while now... after having lots of fun making darkies with a micro rs4 that me and my mate shoved one of my brushless motors into...

GOOD TIMES!

I used to be in the RC scene a lot, but ever since I bought my mini, I've sort of forgotten them :P

Here are my current RC's:

Tamiya TT01 that was bought in the condition shown. Haven't had time to do much to it :P [1/10 Scale]
