I am restoing my mini panel van with a lot of new panels welded in. I am considering having the body soda blasted. I have heard varying opinions on soda blasting. There seems to be some consensus that the procedure leaves a residue that can cause problems with paint. The recommendation seems to be to wash the surfaces with water. It is a scary thought to rinse bare metal with water but apparently something has to be done to remove the residue so the paint will stay on. Are there opinions or experiences on the subject?

wash it and dry, then etch prime. you don't have to wash it straight away, i've got stuff that i did with soda well over 12 months ago and it's still fine.

Thanks for the response. Just rinse with a hose or actually wash it with a rag, sponge or something? Just water or soap and water or something else in the water?

mildly soapy water, just make sure you dry as best as possible then you've finished. try to do one panel at a time.
