How do I take off the black air vents that are to the far left and right of my dashboard, i have water coming in from that area and want to investigate exactly where it is coming from?

the outer ring that sits around them just twists off. can be slightly tricky if they're really tight but they should come off okay

What style of dash?
The shiny ring is on a screw thread, if it has a parcel shelf, the cone shaped bit of plaggy will pull off once the ring's removed and the actual vent underneath has a twist'n pull type socket. The bit you really need to get at is weld to thebody with 4 screws.
