hi guys,
i am desperate to convert my standard air filter on my 1993 1275cc mini rio to a k&n equivalent... i have spoken with my local parts supplier, and he says my carburettor is a HIF38 1 and 1/2 inch carburettor with MAC10031 tagged on it.
could someone please send me a link to mini spares with the right one for my car? without trying one i wouldnt have the slightest idea which one is correct!
cheers guys in advance!
Adam

I have the cone and a K&N which goes inside the standard filter housing. The lone looks good but it's very restrictive in the engine bay and can (if your steady bushes are medium to bad) smash on the back of the engine bay.

Personally I would stick with the stock filter housing which I believe has good flow and fit a K&N in there....

ah sorry i missed that, here you go http://www.minispare...id=34487&title= for future reference it's not that confusing, most of the filters for a 1.5" carb will fit the hif and the hs4's so just look for anything 1.5" unless it's noted that it will only specifically fit one or the other

I use a simota filter too. all i noticed when i fitted it was a louder noise really and maybe unless it's me being creative, slightly crisper throttle response. I certainly wouldn't spend the extra money on a K&N filter as i seriously can't imagine there a) being much difference and b) that difference actually translating into better results.
